RECAP: First Official Meet & Greet 2016

It's always a joy to bring like minded and different people from various walks of life together especially when similar experiences have been shared. You become aware and listen to all sorts of topics, issues, concerns, and questions brought up and answered. "You learn things everyday" is a saying that never gets old.

On the 22nd October 2016, The Returnees had their first official Meet and Greet Hangout where they got to literally meet and greet fellow returnees who have journeyed to countries like Switzerland, The United Kingdom, Ireland, The United States, Malaysia, Ghana, Kenya, South Africa and so many others for their education, growing their careers and even as a safe haven from all the organized chaos that happens in this country; that still confuses some people, including me.

They were joined by fellow Nigerians who haven't had as much opportunity to see and experience the world outside Nigeria but who have so much knowledge on the how's, the what's, the why's and the ins and outs of this country. They got to open up and pour themselves out to what's been happening around them and listening to different peoples take on the subject and leaving personal opinions. The Returnees became a therapy session; a very productive therapy session.

The commemoration of the two parties of people helped make the purpose of the meet and greet a success. Let's not forget the refreshments, the musical vibe and the environment the event was held in that tops it all off, The Art Afrique Space.

Personally, I concur that this will be the start of The Returnees Movement on making Nigeria as great as it is to be. One step at a time, we can all grow together and what way to do that than to attend our "therapy" sessions and parties.

If you'll love to be a part of The Returnees, send your name, phone number, what you do and how you'll love to leave an impact in the country to info@thereturnees.com.

Cheers.
